A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney with a strong background in civil defense to join its team. Duties

  • Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including retail, hospitality, trucking, construction, and insurance coverage cases
  • Draft and file motions, pleadings, and other legal documents
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and develop case strategies
  • Argue motions and participate in hearings, depositions, and trials
  • Negotiate settlements and advise clients on case strategies
  • Collaborate with colleagues and mentor junior attorneys
  • Maintain compliance with all legal and ethical standards

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of civil litigation experience (civil defense preferred)
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases effectively and meet deadlines
  • Client-focused approach with excellent communication abilities
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina (dual licensure in South Carolina is a plus)
