Job Overview:
A prominent regional law firm is seeking an experienced associate to join its Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Area. The ideal candidate will possess at least four years of experience in complex bankruptcy matters or judicial clerkship experience. This role involves working on intricate bankruptcy cases, restructurings, and creditors' rights issues, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Location:

  • New York City, NY

Duties:

  • Represent clients in complex bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors' rights matters.
  • Draft and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and agreements.
  • Advise clients on bankruptcy strategy, corporate restructuring, and creditor negotiations.
  • Conduct research to provide sound legal advice and counsel on various bankruptcy issues.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and other court proceedings.
  • Manage client relationships and provide regular case updates.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategies and client solutions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in bankruptcy law or judicial clerkship experience.
  • Licensed to practice in New York State or Connecticut.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience handling complex bankruptcy and creditors' rights matters.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in New York State or Connecticut.

Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to independently manage complex legal matters.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
