Job Overview:
A reputable national insurance defense firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its team in Edinburg, TX. Location:

  • Edinburg, TX

Duties:

  • Provide legal defense services in insurance defense cases, including bodily injury defense
  • Handle various insurance defense matters, including law and motion work
  • Represent clients in litigation, from pre-trial through settlement or trial
  • Prepare and argue motions and legal briefs
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, and trial materials
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal teams to develop case strategies
  • Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel
  • Manage a caseload efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, providing regular case updates
  • Participate in business development and networking activities to support the firm’s growth

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in insurance defense
  • Experience in bodily injury defense and other insurance defense matters
  • Strong law and motion experience (preferred)
  • Ability to handle cases from pre-trial to trial
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Must be currently licensed to practice law in Texas
  • Additional licensure in other states is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Texas Bar in Good Standing (Required)
  • Additional state licensure is a plus
