A law firm in Naples, FL, is seeking a dedicated Litigation; Condo/HOA; and Insurance Defense Associate Attorney or Partner Level Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in the drafting and interpretation of governing documents, as well as experience with Chapter 718, Chapter 720, Chapter 617, and other applicable statutes and Florida Administrative Codes. The attorney will be responsible for representing clients throughout the litigation process, drafting legal documents, and providing counsel on community governance issues.

Duties:

  • Draft and interpret governing documents, including bylaws, declarations, and rules and regulations.
  • Attend Board and membership meetings to provide legal advice and guidance.
  • Read and analyze Chapter 718, Chapter 720, Chapter 617, and other applicable statutes and Florida Administrative Codes.
  • Review and revise vendor contracts, enforce covenants, and provide advisement on other aspects of community governance.
  • Understand the litigation process to effectively collaborate with handling litigators and manage claims involving the association.
  • Assist at jury and bench trials, representing clients throughout the entire litigation process.
  • Propound and respond to discovery requests.
  • Prepare for and argue motions, including motions for summary judgment.
  • Attend mediations and settlement conferences.
  • Attend and take depositions.
  • Draft legal documents with minimal instruction.
  • Prioritize and multitask effectively.
  • Exhibit personable demeanor with excellent written, proofreading, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills to interact with clients and opposing counsel.

Requirements:

  • Florida Bar License required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in litigation, condo/HOA, and insurance defense.
  • Strong understanding of the litigation process and community governance laws.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Florida Bar Association.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents with minimal instruction.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Excellent written, proofreading, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with clients, opposing counsel, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to attend and assist at jury and bench trials, mediations, and settlement conferences.
