Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated and talented Associate Attorney to join its growing team in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, early-career litigator with 0-3 years of experience in plaintiff-side employment law. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about advocating for plaintiffs in matters of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, and sexual assault cases. Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft demand letters, complaints, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Manage case calendars and deadlines, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
  • Perform written discovery and assist in preparing depositions.
  • Support managing attorneys in caseload management and strategic case development.
  • Participate in client intake processes, witness interviews, and damages calculations.
  • Review and organize case documents, building comprehensive legal strategies.
  • Assist in trial preparation and case presentations.
  • Attend team meetings and focus groups to discuss case strategies and team goals.
  • Occasionally work evenings or weekends to meet tight deadlines or prepare for court.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing.
  • 0-3 years of experience in law, preferably in litigation or plaintiff-side work.
  • Strong written, research, and communication skills.
  • Experience drafting legal documents and performing legal research.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to participate in trial activities and case preparation.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership with the California State Bar (Required).

Skills

  • Familiarity with state and federal employment laws (e.g., FEHA, CFRA, FMLA, 1102.5).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
