Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking an International Trade Associate with expertise in antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations. The role involves supporting the trade remedies section of the firm’s International Trade practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in AD/CVD cases, preferably before the Department of Commerce, International Trade Commission, and the Court of International Trade. The position offers the opportunity to work with both foreign and domestic clients, providing legal counsel throughout trade remedy proceedings, from initiation to judicial appeals.

Location:

  • Washington D.C.

Duties:

  • Handle antidumping and countervailing duty investigations for foreign and domestic clients
  • Represent clients in proceedings before the Department of Commerce, International Trade Commission, and Court of International Trade
  • Advise clients on the initiation and participation in trade remedy cases
  • Assist in prosecuting or defending AD/CVD cases
  • Minimize client liability during and after formal proceedings, including review processes and judicial appeals
  • Negotiate suspension agreements on behalf of clients
  • Provide guidance to importers and purchasers facing trade remedy measures

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in antidumping and countervailing duty investigations
  • Experience in cases before the Department of Commerce, International Trade Commission, and Court of International Trade (preferred)
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and provide high-level client service
  • Stellar academic credentials
  • Private sector and/or government experience preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington D.C. (or eligible to apply)

Skills:

  • Expertise in trade remedy laws, particularly AD/CVD investigations
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative mindset with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of suspension agreements and trade remedy measures
