Duties

• Provide legal counsel to city officials, departments, and boards on diverse legal issues.
• Draft, review, and negotiate ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other critical legal documents.
• Represent the city in government and administrative hearings.
• Conduct legal research and deliver well-supported legal opinions.
• Ensure the city complies with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in practicing law, particularly in municipal or government law.
• Proficiency in areas such as land use, zoning, public contracts, and administrative law.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication abilities.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• An active member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
