Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced and driven Associate Attorney to join its Insurance Defense practice group in Dallas, TX. This role provides an opportunity for candidates to leverage their legal expertise in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while delivering top-tier services to clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation, research, and writing skills, with a passion for handling complex legal matters in the field of insurance defense.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough file reviews and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
  • Perform extensive legal research and prepare significant legal documents, including briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
  • Handle a required annual billable hour goal of 1950 hours.
  • Represent clients in court, at depositions, and during arbitration proceedings.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Collaborate with expert witnesses and manage retention.
  • Assist in trial preparation and participate in court proceedings.
  • Occasional travel may be required for client meetings and court appearances.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Insurance Defense; experience with First Party Insurance is a plus.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas; additional state bar memberships are advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Self-starter with a solid work ethic and the ability to thrive in both independent and collaborative settings.
  • Professional, responsive, and proactive in client communication and case management.

Education:

  • J.D. from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
  • Additional Bar admissions are considered a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent legal writing and drafting proficiency.
  • Ability to effectively represent clients in a variety of legal proceedings.
  • Knowledge of insurance defense law and legal procedures.
  • Excellent client management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
