Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to electrical engineering, software, and similar fields.
  • Work on patent litigation, providing support and representing clients in patent disputes.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and execute patent strategies in line with their business goals.
  • Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and validity assessments.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including patent applications, responses, and litigation-related materials.
  • Advise clients on patent portfolio management and intellectual property strategy.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and changes in patent law.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2-6 years of relevant experience in patent prosecution and litigation.
  • Background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • Design engineering experience with a focus on chip technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with networking technologies, software, or wireless networks (3G/4G/5G) is highly desirable.
  • Must be admitted to practice before the USPTO.
  • Associate candidates should be licensed to practice law or have the ability to become licensed in their respective state(s).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to provide clear, concise, and actionable legal advice.
  • Bar licensure in California is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related technical field.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree is required.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • DE State Bar licensure is required.
