Job Overview: A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a skilled Mid-To-Senior Level Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in economic development law and a solid commitment to delivering exceptional legal services.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in economic development projects.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex regulatory and transactional issues.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Attend meetings with clients, stakeholders, and governmental bodies.
  • Manage and oversee junior associates and legal staff on assigned projects.
  • Handle litigation matters and disputes as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Washington, DC Bar; additional admission to nearby state bars (e.g., Virginia, Maryland) is a plus.
  • 4-7 years of experience practicing law focusing on economic development, preferably within a reputable law firm or government agency.
  • Proven track record of managing client relationships and independently handling diverse caseloads.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and legislative processes related to economic development.

Certifications (if applicable):

  • Certification in economic development law or related field (desired).

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in legal work.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
