Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a skilled and dedicated Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, particularly in employment law, with the ability to defend and represent employers in various employment-related claims. This role involves both courtroom litigation and providing counsel on complex labor and employment laws. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, employment tort, contract disputes, and non-compete cases.
  • Represent employers in court, at administrative hearings, in arbitration, and during mediations in employment law matters.
  • Handle class and collective actions related to employment issues, providing a robust defense for employers.
  • Advise and counsel employers on compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage all aspects of litigation, from discovery through trial, including drafting motions, briefs, and pleadings.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes to resolve employment disputes.
  • Keep abreast of changes in employment law, particularly as it relates to litigation and procedural rules.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and records of case developments, strategies, and client interactions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on case strategies, share expertise, and contribute to the firm’s knowledge base.

Job Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active Bar admission in New Hampshire, or the ability to obtain admission quickly.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for employment law background.
  • Demonstrated understanding of federal and state court procedures, as well as agency procedures for employment-related cases (e.g., EEOC, DOL, etc.).
  • Familiarity with a variety of employment law topics, including workplace discrimination, wage and hour laws, workplace policies, and employee agreements.

Required Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with an emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information effectively.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills to manage large caseloads efficiently.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team, demonstrating a commitment to professionalism and collegiality.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with class action and collective action litigation.
  • Experience advising employers on compliance with wage and hour laws, workplace investigations, and employee relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining a high standard of work product.

Certifications:

  • Active admission to the New Hampshire Bar or eligible for admission upon employment.
