A law firm is seeking a Personal Injury Attorney for their office located in Oxford, MS. Here's the job description:

Job Overview:

The Personal Injury Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in personal injury cases, from initial consultation through trial, and will handle all aspects of case management, including client communication, legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and trial proceedings.

Duties:

  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in personal injury cases
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses, experts, and parties
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, motions, and other pleadings
  • Lead mediations and settlement negotiations
  • Develop case strategies and prepare cases for trial
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials and hearings

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience practicing personal injury or civil litigation
  • Licensed to practice law in Mississippi and good standing with the Mississippi State Bar
  • Experience drafting and responding to motions
  • Substantial knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Mississippi State Bar
