A fast-growing law firm in the Greater Boston area is seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Law Attorney to join its team in Melrose, Massachusetts. Location

Duties

  • Represent clients in all aspects of family law litigation and mediation

  • Handle complex legal matters including divorce, child custody and support, alimony, property division, prenuptial agreements, and post-divorce modifications

  • Draft and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders

  • Manage high-conflict and sensitive cases involving child abuse, domestic violence, or contested custody

  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients at hearings and trials

  • Provide strategic counsel and maintain ongoing communication with clients

  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to execute case strategies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing family law in Massachusetts

  • Demonstrated experience handling contested litigation and complex family matters

  • Proven ability to manage a high caseload with attention to detail and timeliness

  • Familiarity with Massachusetts family law, including division of assets, support, and domestic relations statutes

  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a team setting

  • Strong client service and emotional intelligence in high-stress legal situations

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar Association

  • Additional certifications in mediation or real estate law a plus

Skills

  • Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills

  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities

  • Tech-savvy and experienced with legal software (preferred: Clio, Lawmatics, Microsoft Office Suite)
