Patent Attorney

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conducting interviews with inventors to assess patentability and gather necessary technical and legal information.
• Drafting patent applications and responses to office actions, including rejections under 35 U.S.C. §101.
• Prosecut patent applications before the USPTO and provide strategic advice on portfolio management.
• Conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate searches and analyses.
• Advising clients on intellectual property issues, including infringement and validity opinions.

Requirements:

• Must be registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
• Preferably hold a degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field or possess relevant work experience in software, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.
• 1-4 years of experience in patent law, specifically in drafting patent applications and overcoming rejections under 35 U.S.C. §101.
• Strong understanding of patent prosecution procedures and intellectual property law.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
• Registration to practice before the USPTO.
