The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling consumer credit collections cases, leveraging their knowledge of state laws and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). They must demonstrate exceptional communication skills and a commitment to providing proactive client care.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in creditor's rights cases, including court appearances, hearings, and negotiations.
  • Utilize the firm’s case management and reporting software to effectively manage assigned matters.
  • Conduct legal research on consumer credit collections and state laws in North Carolina regarding consumer protections.
  • Draft legal documents such as complaints, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide case updates and strategic advice.
  • Attend meetings with clients, creditors, and other relevant parties to discuss case strategies and resolutions.
  • Travel as necessary for court appearances and client meetings.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar in good standing.
  • Must have experience practicing in creditor’s rights, consumer credit collections, or related litigation.
  • Strong understanding of North Carolina state laws related to consumer collections and familiarity with the FDCPA.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal issues clearly and persuasively.
  • Commitment to superior client care, proactive communication, and building strong client relationships.
  • Preferred multi-state licensure to handle cases across different jurisdictions.
