Associate Attorney needed for White Plains office

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will manage a caseload, draft motions and legal documents, and regularly handle court appearances and depositions under the supervision of senior attorneys. Location:

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense cases under the supervision of a partner.
• Draft motions, status reports, and other legal documents.
• Handle court appearances, depositions, and hearings.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on strategy and case management.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Manage deadlines, filings, and all other procedural aspects of litigation.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in New York; admission to Connecticut Bar is a plus.
• At least 3 years of experience in insurance defense litigation, particularly in New York State courts.
• Experience handling depositions, court appearances, and managing litigation files.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to the New York State Bar (required).
• Admission to the Connecticut State Bar (preferred but not required).

Skills:

• Proven ability to handle insurance defense cases from inception through trial.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Time-management and organizational skills to manage a busy caseload.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
