Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice on state and federal privacy laws and regulatory compliance.
• Advise on data protection, management, and security, including data flows and maps.
• Develop and implement strategies for incident response related to data breaches and security threats.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts focusing on data privacy and security clauses.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data privacy laws and regulations compliance.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on emerging data privacy and security laws and regulations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of privacy policies and procedures.
• Represent the firm in negotiations and discussions with clients, regulatory bodies, and other third parties.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data privacy and security law.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with legal and non-legal professionals.
• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (preferred).
• Significant experience in technology and data privacy and security, including understanding state and federal privacy laws, data protection, management, and incident response.
• Familiarity with the healthcare industry is strongly preferred.
• Ability to provide practical and strategic advice on complex legal and regulatory issues.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in Missouri.
