Job Title: Senior Immigration Attorney
Job Location: Miami, FL

Job Overview:
A premier law firm is currently seeking an experienced Senior Immigration Attorney to join their dynamic team in Miami, FL. This position presents a tremendous opportunity for a seasoned immigration attorney to take on a challenging caseload, work with a collaborative team, and continue advancing within a reputable firm. The Senior Immigration Attorney will work closely with the Managing Immigration Attorney and be responsible for managing a variety of immigration cases, representing clients, and making a significant impact on their legal outcomes.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and explain immigration laws and procedures to clients.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), including non-detained and detained individuals.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of immigration cases from start to finish.
  • Conduct client intake interviews at detention centers and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Draft and file immigration applications, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and other related filings.
  • Review and adjust immigration application packets for accuracy and compliance.
  • Liaise with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations to stay abreast of changes in immigration law.
  • Lead consultations with potential clients, develop tailored immigration strategies, and determine the most effective approach.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for USCIS interviews and court appearances.
  • Write legal briefs for various immigration matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Strong track record of managing and progressing legal cases.
  • High level of interpersonal communication skills and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review), detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS-related matters.
  • Proficient with case management software (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the State Bar of Florida or eligible to practice law in Florida.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Florida.

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Excellent case management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to think critically and strategically in complex legal scenarios.
  • Strong negotiation and client management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
