Job Title: Senior Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm located in Iselin, NJ is seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate Attorney to join its team. This position involves representing mortgage servicer and investor clients in a variety of residential and commercial foreclosure matters, as well as title disputes and general real estate litigation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in contested foreclosures, consumer claims, and related legal practices. The role requires an individual who can handle complex legal cases, develop case strategies, appear in court, and collaborate with both clients and internal teams.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of contested foreclosures, defensive litigation, and ancillary matters for mortgage servicers and investors.
• Handle commercial foreclosures from initiation through resolution.
• Review loan files, title reports, and other related client documents.
• Draft various legal documents including motions, pleadings, settlement agreements, and discovery responses.
• Represent clients in court for hearings, motions, case management conferences, trials, and appeals.
• Communicate regularly with clients to ensure adherence to directives and maintain high-quality legal service.
• Collaborate with support staff for document preparation, filing, and reporting to clients.
• Conduct legal research on complex cases and collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategies.
• Prepare matter budgets and seek client approval for fees; track billable and non-billable hours.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with an active Bar license in New York in good standing.
• Bar license in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and/or Connecticut is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant litigation experience is preferred, though candidates with less experience may be considered based on qualifications.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with New York Mortgage Foreclosure Law and related practices is essential.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in New York is required.
• Additional Bar memberships in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and/or Connecticut are a plus.
