Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Chicago, IL, is seeking a skilled associate attorney to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in Nursing Home Defense, Medical Malpractice, and General Litigation. This full-time, in-office position offers a dynamic, fast-paced work environment with opportunities for professional development and advancement. Candidates should be self-motivated and comfortable managing various tasks in a legal setting while working independently and collaboratively.

Duties:

  • Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
  • Assist with the discovery process, including administering depositions and analyzing documents.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Perform legal research to support case development.
  • Represent clients in court, as needed, for hearings and other legal proceedings.
  • Manage relationships with clients and colleagues, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines and case objectives.
  • Analyze legal issues and develop strategies for client defense.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois or awaiting results from the Illinois Bar Exam (if taken within the past 6 months).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Proficiency with legal billing software.
  • Prior experience in Nursing Home Defense, Medical Malpractice, or General Litigation is a plus.

Education:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Illinois Bar license (preferred).
