A law firm seeks an experienced Attorney Specialist for its Asset Management and Investment Funds (AMIF) practice group in Austin, TX. This permanent position is ideal for attorneys looking for a non-partnership track opportunity. The Attorney Specialist will assist with mutual fund and ETF filings, new fund launches, and the preparation of mutual fund board materials, while also handling legal research and ensuring compliance with the 1940 Act. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of attorneys and contribute to the continued growth of this specialized practice area.

Duties:

  • Support attorneys with mutual fund and ETF filings, ensuring compliance with the 1940 Act and related regulations.
  • Assist in launching new funds, preparing fund registration statements, and reviewing shareholder reports.
  • Contribute to the preparation of mutual fund board materials, including legal documents and presentations.
  • Conduct research on various legal matters related to asset management and investment funds.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on client-facing work and assist in managing significant client relationships.
  • Lead or participate in project management activities, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and on time.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of direct experience in asset management, investment funds, or a related legal field.
  • Strong academic background with excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment, managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience, with the ability to take initiative and drive results.
  • Commitment to long-term engagement with the firm's AMIF practice group.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the state bar, in good standing.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of asset management regulations and the 1940 Act.
  • Experience with mutual fund and ETF filings and registration processes.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building client relationships and working collaboratively.
  • Ability to manage complex legal projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
