Job Overview

A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Team Attorney for its Real Estate Finance & Capital Markets team. This role involves advising on commercial real estate finance with a focus on commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS). It offers a non-traditional partnership track with lower billable hour requirements and minimal non-billable obligations. The position provides the opportunity to support significant client projects and collaborate with nationally recognized attorneys.

Duties

  • Assist with abstracting legacy, new issuance, and replacement special servicer securitization instruments using proprietary software.
  • Review and manage pooling and servicing agreements, indentures, inter-creditor agreements, and co-lender agreements related to CMBS loans.
  • Work directly with a prominent client and support other capital markets transactions as needed.
  • Collaborate with a team to provide comprehensive legal services in real estate finance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, particularly within the CMBS sector.
  • Familiarity with CMBS documentation, including pooling and servicing agreements.
  • Experience in loan servicing transactions is a plus.
  • Strong academic credentials and relevant experience in real estate finance.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice law in the jurisdiction of one of the specified office locations, or eligibility for reciprocity/waiver.

Skills

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in handling complex CMBS transactions and related documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
