Job Overview

A reputable law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience to join their expanding team, primarily focusing on Personal Injury and Real Estate law. The position will involve working within the firm’s busy Personal Injury Department, managing a caseload from inception to resolution. The ideal candidate will possess strong research and writing skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and staff. This is a full-time, hybrid position offering competitive compensation and benefits.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of personal injury cases from inception to resolution.
  • Interact with clients, providing case updates and answering inquiries.
  • Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Manage the discovery process, including document production and depositions.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing parties, insurance companies, and defense attorneys.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings such as hearings, motions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Analyze case strengths and weaknesses, developing effective legal strategies.
  • Conduct case evaluations to assess the likelihood of success and potential risks.
  • Utilize case management software to track case status and manage documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Admitted and licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and in good standing.
  • 1-3 years of experience handling automobile accident and/or personal injury cases.
  • Strong research and writing skills with excellent academic credentials.
  • Ability to interact with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, case management software, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts.
