A law firm located in Woodland Hills is seeking an experienced Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 6-10 years of litigation experience. The candidate will play a pivotal role in handling a variety of labor and employment matters, providing legal counsel, conducting research, and representing clients in court proceedings.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on labor and employment issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Take and defend depositions of clients, witnesses, and experts.
  • Handle discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Assist in trial preparation and provide support during trials.
  • File pleadings with State and Federal courts and represent clients in court appearances.
  • Communicate effectively and timely with clients and colleagues.
  • Maintain meticulous records and ensure adherence to deadlines.

Requirements:

  • 6-10 years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on labor and employment law.
  • Admission to practice law in the State of California.
  • Experience in employment and/or wage & hour law is preferred.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in business litigation and general litigation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide strategic advice.
  • Strong advocacy skills and ability to represent clients effectively in court.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
