Duties

• Represent clients in all aspects of family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and property division
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including declarations, trial briefs, discovery responses, and motions
• Handle family law cases with minimal supervision, while collaborating with the team as needed
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and advice on case developments
• Prepare for and attend court hearings, mediations, and trials
• Collaborate with paralegals and other support staff to ensure smooth case management
• Manage client billing and case documentation using Tabs3 Billing, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Judicial Counsel Forms, and XSpouse
• Maintain professional integrity and ethics while handling sensitive family law matters
• Resolve family law cases through settlement negotiations or, when necessary, by trial

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in family law
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Experience with Tabs3 Billing, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Judicial Counsel Forms, and XSpouse
• Ability to handle family law cases with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly in court
• Ability to work effectively with clients, paralegals, and other legal assistants
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethics
• Ability to resolve family law cases through both settlement and litigation
• Sensitivity in handling client issues related to family matters

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership in the State Bar of California
