Job Overview

A law firm seeks a proactive and detail-focused Transactional Attorney to join its dynamic legal team, which focuses on serving clients in the areas of real estate law, construction defect matters, and community association governance. Duties

  • Draft, review, and revise a variety of contracts, agreements, and governing documents for homeowner associations (HOAs) and real estate clients
  • Advise clients on legal obligations, best practices, and risk mitigation strategies related to community management, real estate transactions, and property development
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support client advisory work and ensure compliance with California laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple practice areas, including litigation and construction law, to provide comprehensive client support
  • Assist with training and mentoring paralegal and administrative staff to ensure document consistency and adherence to firm standards
  • Participate in client meetings, board presentations, and educational seminars for community association leadership

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience handling transactional matters, ideally in real estate, community association law, or related fields
  • Strong contract drafting, interpretation, and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, combined with a proactive and self-motivated work style
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well in a team-oriented culture
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar

Skills

  • Proficiency in legal drafting and document review
  • Strong research skills using tools such as Westlaw or similar platforms
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, including document formatting and track changes
  • Experience editing PDFs using Adobe Acrobat or comparable software
