Job Overview
A law firm seeks a dedicated and experienced Family Law Attorney to represent clients in various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, prenuptial agreements, and domestic violence cases. The successful candidate will collaborate with paralegals and senior partners to navigate legal proceedings, ensuring timely and effective client representation. This position requires a high level of emotional intelligence, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations. The role is based in The Woodlands, TX.

Duties

• Collaborate with paralegals and senior partners to manage cases effectively through the civil litigation process.
• Represent clients during court proceedings, advocating for their rights and best interests.
• Maintain organized, up-to-date client files to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist clients in dividing marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
• Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and court orders for a high caseload.

Requirements

• Proven negotiation and communication skills, especially in emotionally charged situations.
• Experience in handling sensitive family law issues such as child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence.
• A demonstrated ability to successfully represent both plaintiffs and defendants.
• Strong commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients, whether through trial or early settlements.
• Comfortable managing a high-volume docket and collaborating with individuals with various personalities.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree with a legal background.
• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
• Active membership and good standing with the American Bar Association (ABA).
• A desire to pursue board certification in Family Law.

Skills

• Exceptional litigation and trial skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Strong organizational and case management abilities.
• Willingness to advocate equally for both mothers and fathers in custody matters.
• Comfort and experience with representing parties in Child Protective Services (CPS) cases.
