A law firm seeks an experienced Trusts & Estates Associate to join its Dallas office. The successful candidate will have between 4 to 7 years of experience in private practice, focusing on estate planning, probate, and estate administration. This role requires a highly motivated attorney with a strong academic background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage client matters independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

Duties

  • Develop and implement estate plans for clients, including drafting wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents.
  • Advise clients on strategies for lifetime gift planning, wealth transfer, and tax optimization.
  • Manage the probate process and guide clients through estate administration.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and customize legal strategies.
  • Review and draft documents related to trusts, estate tax returns, and related matters.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely and accurate completion of client matters.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Stay updated on changes in estate planning laws and best practices.

Requirements

  • 4 to 7 years of experience in Trusts & Estates law, including estate planning and probate matters.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complex client matters independently while also working effectively within a team environment.
  • A demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships and manage multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar.

Skills

  • Proficiency in estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, and other related documents.
  • Experience with probate and estate administration.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
