Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex medical malpractice and nursing home abuse cases.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, paralegals, and support staff on case strategy and execution.
  • Maintain client relationships through regular communication and case updates.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards and deadlines.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to case management effectively.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience practicing law, focusing on medical malpractice or nursing home abuse litigation preferred.
  • Proven track record of handling cases independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience conducting standard-of-care depositions.
  • Trial experience, including courtroom advocacy skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Ability to analyze medical records and expert reports effectively.
