Associate Defense Attorney General Liability

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its General Liability practice group in California. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled attorney to handle a diverse range of general liability matters such as premises liability, personal injury, wrongful death, automobile accidents, and construction defects. Duties:

• Defend clients in a variety of general liability cases, including but not limited to premises liability, personal injury, wrongful death, automobile/trucking accidents, and construction defects.
• Conduct legal research and handle all aspects of case management, from discovery through trial preparation.
• Take depositions and prepare, file, and argue motions.
• Work closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
• Collaborate with clients and opposing counsel to resolve matters efficiently.
• Handle cases with minimal supervision, while providing updates and seeking guidance when necessary.

Requirements:

• Must be admitted to the State Bar of California.
• At least 5 years of experience in defending general liability claims.
• Extensive experience with discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation.
• Ability to handle cases independently and manage a caseload effectively.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

• J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Skills:

• Strong litigation skills, including motion practice and taking depositions.
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases simultaneously.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with both settlement negotiations and trial preparation.
