Litigation Medical Malpractice Attorney

A law firm in Hummelstown, PA is seeking a Litigation Medical Malpractice Attorney with 1-3 years of litigation experience to join their team. The successful candidate will focus on Medical Malpractice Defense, representing both institutional and individual clients. This role involves managing cases from inception to post-trial, conducting depositions, and handling all aspects of litigation, including court appearances, arbitrations, and mediations. Strong communication skills, a high level of organization, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the litigation practice with a focus on Medical Malpractice Defense, representing institutional and individual clients.
• Manage cases from inception through post-trial, ensuring thorough and effective case management.
• Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates on case status and address their needs.
• Appear in court, participate in arbitrations and mediations, and handle all aspects of litigation.
• Conduct and defend depositions, preparing clients and witnesses as necessary.
• Draft, review, and respond to pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
• Prepare for and manage discovery, including reviewing and responding to discovery requests.
• Perform legal and medical research to support case strategy and arguments.
• Work under the supervision of senior attorneys while gradually taking on more independent responsibilities.
• Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and other team members to ensure efficient case handling.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar.
• 1-3 years of litigation experience, with a focus on medical malpractice preferred.
• Strong trial experience and familiarity with medical cases are highly desirable.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage a significant caseload and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
