The successful candidate will focus on Medical Malpractice Defense, representing both institutional and individual clients. This role involves managing cases from inception to post-trial, conducting depositions, and handling all aspects of litigation, including court appearances, arbitrations, and mediations. Strong communication skills, a high level of organization, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the litigation practice with a focus on Medical Malpractice Defense, representing institutional and individual clients.
  • Manage cases from inception through post-trial, ensuring thorough and effective case management.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates on case status and address their needs.
  • Appear in court, participate in arbitrations and mediations, and handle all aspects of litigation.
  • Conduct and defend depositions, preparing clients and witnesses as necessary.
  • Draft, review, and respond to pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Prepare for and manage discovery, including reviewing and responding to discovery requests.
  • Perform legal and medical research to support case strategy and arguments.
  • Work under the supervision of senior attorneys while gradually taking on more independent responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and other team members to ensure efficient case handling.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar.
  • 1-3 years of litigation experience, with a focus on medical malpractice preferred.
  • Strong trial experience and familiarity with medical cases are highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage a significant caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
