A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to handle personal injury cases, with an emphasis on plaintiff-side litigation. Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury litigation matters, from filing to resolution.
  • Prepare and draft key legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
  • Provide clients with deposition preparation and representation during hearings.
  • Draft and respond to motions, including dispositive motions.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and strategize optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Attend court appearances and hearings on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with the investigation team to gather critical case evidence.
  • Assist senior attorneys in trial preparation and other complex litigation tasks.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in Personal Injury law, with a focus on litigation.
  • Solid experience in pre-litigation case management and discovery processes.
  • Proficiency in conducting depositions and managing discovery.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases concurrently.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Flexibility and a strong work ethic to meet deadlines and manage caseloads efficiently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar, in good standing.

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing, including the ability to draft motions, responses, and discovery documents.
  • Ability to take and defend depositions effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills for settlement discussions.
  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage high volumes of cases.
  • Proficient in using legal technology and tools to improve productivity.
