Duties:

  • Manage and oversee complex commercial litigation cases from inception to resolution, ensuring compliance with all legal standards.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and depositions while maintaining professionalism and a strategic approach.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare comprehensive legal documents, including briefs, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop case strategies, offering sound legal advice tailored to their specific needs.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients and opposing counsel throughout the litigation process.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments and best practices to enhance service delivery and legal acumen.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • License to practice law in good standing in the State of New York.
  • 4-8 years of experience in commercial and/or Trusts & Estates litigation matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases with minimal supervision and to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven experience in trial settings, including courtroom appearances and trial preparation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with clients and counterparties.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with junior and senior attorneys.

Education:

  • A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is required.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in the State of New York.
