Job Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Litigation Attorney with 1-3 years of experience in personal injury law to join its team. This is a remote position offering the opportunity to work independently while receiving support from experienced staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation skills, including experience with discovery, depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation. Location:

  • Corpus Christi, TX

Duties:

  • Manage a docket of personal injury cases from intake to resolution.
  • File lawsuits and prepare legal documentation, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct depositions, prepare clients for depositions, mediations, motion hearings, and trials.
  • Evaluate claims by collaborating with claims representatives and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Work closely with paralegals and legal secretaries to draft discovery, order and summarize medical records, and coordinate depositions.
  • Collaborate with experts and prepare for depositions and trial presentations.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients and represent clients in court when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • 1-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in personal injury law.
  • Experience in managing personal injury cases and taking them through trial.
  • Strong negotiation, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage a high caseload independently.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas (Required).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in litigation and trial preparation.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills, including experience drafting legal documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, experts, and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Experience with legal research and using legal databases such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
