Job Overview

A premier personal injury law firm in Decatur, GA, is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to handle complex personal injury cases, mentor legal staff, and drive litigation strategies. Location

Duties

  • Represent personal injury clients throughout all phases of litigation, including:
    • Filing lawsuits
    • Discovery and depositions
    • Motion practice
    • Negotiation, mediation, and arbitration
    • Hearings and jury trials
    • Bench trials and post-trial motions
  • Oversee case management from client sign-up to resolution, whether by trial or settlement
  • Mentor and supervise litigation paralegals and case managers in a structured POD system
  • Collaborate with legal teams, including offshore employees
  • Track hours and case progress to optimize workflow and performance
  • Lead and develop trial strategies to secure favorable outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with court procedures, legal ethics, and deadlines

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) first-chair or second-chair jury trials in personal injury litigation
  • Experience handling bench trials, appellate work, motions, mediation, and arbitration
  • Strong litigation, negotiation, and trial preparation skills
  • Ability to work under high-pressure deadlines while maintaining quality representation
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and team collaboration skills
  • A results-driven mindset with a desire to earn performance-based bonuses

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership in The State Bar of Georgia (Required)
  • Additional bar memberships are a plus

Skills

  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills (writing sample required)
  • Proficiency in appellate brief writing and complex legal drafting
  • Strong decision-making and case strategy abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of personal injury law and trial procedures
