Job Overview:

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, seeks an experienced Intake Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. This role is critical in the initial stages of client engagement, where the attorney will vet potential cases, identify legal strategies, and provide expert legal counsel to both potential and existing clients. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in immigration law, possess exceptional interpersonal skills, and be fluent in English and Spanish. Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the firm's case management software to vet live cases and ensure prompt follow-up.
  • Review intake sheets and accompanying documents from potential clients to assess case viability.
  • Identify potential immigration relief options for clients and recommend appropriate legal strategies.
  • Suggest legal strategies and propose services tailored to the needs of potential clients.
  • Provide legal counsel to existing clients on services beyond their current contracts.
  • Answer legal questions and explain legal processes to potential and existing clients.
  • Communicate effectively with the sales team, providing feedback and insights from legal consultations.
  • Oversee intake paralegals and virtual assistants to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the intake process.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative team player who can strategize and work effectively with fellow associates.
  • Client Management: Demonstrated ability to move legal cases forward and manage a caseload efficiently.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with case management software is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Certifications:

  • Certification or specialization in Immigration Law is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify legal issues and solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficient in using legal research tools and case management software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
