Senior Municipal Law Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to join its expanding municipal law practice. This senior-level role requires significant experience in municipal law or other public sector legal matters. The ideal candidate will handle complex legal issues with minimal supervision and supervise and mentor junior attorneys. Location:

• Grand Rapids, MI

Duties:

• Handle complex municipal law matters and public sector legal issues.

• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys within the municipal law practice.

• Provide legal counsel to municipalities and public entities across the state.

• Draft legal documents, conduct research, and represent clients in court.

• Manage a diverse caseload independently.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.

Requirements:

• Significant experience in municipal law or public sector legal matters.

• Ability to handle complex legal issues with minimal supervision.

• Leadership skills with experience mentoring junior attorneys.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Michigan or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of municipal law and public sector legal issues.

• Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.

• Excellent client management, negotiation, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
