Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm is seeking an associate-level attorney to join its long-term care and health care team. The role involves working on regulatory and risk-management issues, including licensing, survey and certification, compliance, contract reviews, and more. While prior experience in health law is preferred, it is not a requirement. The firm is open to training candidates with strong potential and a desire to develop expertise in the health care law field.

Location:

  • Stamford, CT

Duties:

  • Provide counsel on long-term care and health law matters such as licensing, survey and certification, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid compliance, and Certificate of Need (CON) issues.
  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality service.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and business development efforts to grow the health care practice.
  • Stay updated on health care laws and regulations, contributing to the firm’s thought leadership and insights.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to offer comprehensive legal support to clients.
  • Achieve a minimum of 1800 billable hours annually.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in corporate or litigation law; health care experience preferred.
  • Strong candidates with less experience, but a demonstrated passion for health care law, will be considered.
  • Admission to the New York, Connecticut, or Massachusetts Bar required; ability to waive into other jurisdictions is a plus.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and an active member in good standing of the bar.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Quick learning ability to absorb and apply new legal information.
  • High performance standards and a sense of responsibility.
  • Professional, cooperative, and flexible attitude.
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities at all levels of the organization.
  • Military experience is welcome.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:
