Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Draft and review employment-related documents, including employment, separation, restrictive covenant, and bonus agreements, as well as employee policies and handbooks.
  • Provide legal counsel on day-to-day employment law issues, addressing various client needs and inquiries.
  • Research and prepare correspondence, pleadings, position statements, and briefs for both pre-litigation and litigation matters.
  • Advise on employment-related due diligence during M&A deals, offering insight into employment liabilities and other relevant aspects.
  • Work closely with clients, providing high-quality legal advice on employment-related matters in various industries, including energy, mining, and technology.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to develop legal strategies and maintain a strong client-focused approach.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in employment law, with a focus on transactions and employee agreements.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating employee agreements, including employment contracts, separation agreements, and restrictive covenants.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, including compliance, risk management, and regulatory issues.
  • Proven ability to research, analyze, and prepare legal documents for various employment-related matters.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive to contribute to the growth of the practice.
  • Previous experience working in an employment law group at a large law firm or boutique employment law firm is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal concepts.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar (CO preferred).

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment law and legal research.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, particularly for employment-related agreements.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
