Duties

• Provide expert legal advice on matters like corporate governance, employment law, and intellectual property.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to safeguard the company's interests with clients, employees, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Manage mergers, acquisitions, and business transactions, conducting due diligence, preparing documentation, and advising on legal implications.
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, staying updated on changes in legislation.
• Protect intellectual property, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights, and handle related issues.
• Represent the company in dispute resolution, including negotiations, mediation, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
• Identify potential legal risks and implement strategies to mitigate exposure to legal liabilities.
• Collaborate with the company's strategic planning team, offering legal insights on business decisions and long-term strategy.

Requirements

• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in the state of Illinois.
• Several years of experience in corporate law or a similar legal business environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex legal issues.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to simplify legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in contract negotiation and dispute resolution.
• A keen eye for detail in legal document preparation and compliance.
• High ethical standards and sound judgment in all legal matters.

Education
