Job Overview: A respected law firm in Bolingbrook is looking to expand its Local Government Practice Group by hiring an attorney with experience in representing local government entities. This role involves working with various public bodies, including cities, villages, school districts, park districts, and other governmental agencies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in local government law and be committed to providing legal support in day-to-day operations.

Duties:

  • Provide legal representation and counsel to local government bodies such as municipalities, townships, and districts.
  • Handle the legal aspects of daily operations for government clients, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and agreements for government bodies.
  • Attend and advise at board meetings, public hearings, and other official proceedings as needed.
  • Conduct legal research and offer recommendations on various matters involving government operations.

Requirements:

  • Active Illinois Bar license.
  • 5-7 years of legal experience, preferably in local government law.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Illinois Bar membership.

Certifications:

  • Illinois Bar License.
