Job Overview:
A well-established civil litigation defense law firm is seeking attorneys for Workers' Compensation (WC) and Liability Insurance Defense across multiple Maryland locations. Location:

Duties:

  • Manage and litigate cases in Workers' Compensation and Liability Insurance Defense.
  • Handle billable hours and meet firm productivity standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and all levels of management.
  • Develop case strategies, research legal matters, and prepare legal documents.
  • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
  • Maintain and grow client relationships by providing sound legal counsel.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the Maryland Bar (D.C. Bar is a plus).
  • 1-3 years of experience in Workers' Compensation or Liability Insurance Defense preferred.
  • Experience with billing hours and managing case workloads.
  • Strong communication skills with clients, opposing counsel, and management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Maryland (D.C. Bar is a plus).

Skills:

  • Litigation and trial experience.
  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation and Liability Insurance Defense.
