Job Description:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in commercial real estate transactions, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate real estate leases and related documents.
  • Oversee and manage commercial real estate purchase and sale transactions.
  • Provide legal advice on real estate investment and development projects.
  • Conduct due diligence on real estate transactions, including title searches, zoning issues, and environmental concerns.
  • Liaise with clients, brokers, and other attorneys to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal real estate laws and regulations.
  • Resolve real estate disputes through negotiation, mediation, or litigation if necessary.
  • Advise clients on real estate financing and refinancing strategies.
  • Prepare and present reports on real estate market trends and legal risks.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial real estate law.
  • Extensive knowledge of real estate leasing and commercial real estate purchase and sale transactions.
  • Proven track record of managing complex real estate transactions.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in legal research and the use of legal databases.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the New York State Bar Association.

Certifications:

  • Real Estate Law Certification (preferred but not required).

Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of real estate law and commercial real estate practices.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents related to real estate transactions.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, concise advice.

  • Advanced computer skills, including legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
