Senior Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks a seasoned senior litigation attorney to join its team in Sacramento, California. Duties

• Lead and manage complex litigation cases, including trials, depositions, motion practice, and discovery.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to clients across various sectors, including environmental law, public law, water law, and elections law.
• Represent clients in both federal and state courts, taking the lead in case preparation, hearings, and settlements.
• Conduct legal research and draft persuasive motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Act as a trusted advisor, building strong client relationships through consistent communication and quality service.
• Handle multiple litigation matters simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of legal professionals, contributing to case strategy and business development.

Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of litigation experience, with a strong background in federal and state trial work.
• Experience handling complex legal matters, with a preference for candidates with expertise in environmental law, water law, elections law, or public law.
• First-chair litigation experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload with a focus on client service and legal excellence.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present arguments effectively in court.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar.
