Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney for a hybrid position based out of their New York City offices. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven attorney with a strong background in civil litigation, particularly in General Liability and Professional Liability matters, to join a dynamic team. The role offers exposure to a broad range of litigation areas, providing hands-on experience from day one, as well as the ability to grow within a supportive, mid-sized firm environment.

Duties:

• Represent clients in all stages of litigation, from initial filing to expert discovery and trial preparation.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct detailed legal research and lead discovery investigations.
• Draft and review discovery requests, responses, motions, case evaluations, settlement agreements, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Prepare case summaries, deposition summaries, and litigation update reports.
• Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel to resolve claims.
• Provide regular legal analysis, status updates, and strategic advice to clients throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

• Civil litigation experience.
• Must be admitted to the Connecticut Bar.
• Proven experience in drafting discovery, leading depositions, and arguing motions.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a demanding caseload in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with Lexis software for legal research.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice in Connecticut.

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to manage complex cases and multiple priorities simultaneously.
