A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its team in San Diego, CA. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on cases related to sexual harassment, sexual assault, employment law, and civil rights. The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of civil litigation experience, including trial preparation, motion practice, and deposition work. The firm values attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle a substantial caseload. The role offers a dynamic and supportive environment for professional growth.

Duties:

  • Manage civil litigation cases from pre-trial through trial, including trial preparation and motion practice.
  • Conduct depositions, draft motions, and handle oral arguments in court.
  • Lead negotiations and settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Provide legal research and assist with case strategy development.
  • Oversee a large caseload while ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, co-counsel, and other legal professionals.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in civil litigation.
  • Experience with trial preparation, motion practice, and depositions.
  • Experience with employment law, personal injury plaintiff's work, and/or civil rights work is a plus.
  • Strong research, writing, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage a large caseload and maintain organizational efficiency.
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Licensed to practice law in California.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in California.
