Job Overview

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join its team in Northern California. This full-time position offers a challenging caseload with workers' compensation cases of varying complexity. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in workers' compensation law, be highly motivated, and able to manage a full caseload. Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred. Duties

  • Case Management: Handle a full caseload of workers' compensation cases of varying complexity.
  • Legal Representation: Represent clients in workers' compensation defense matters.
  • Legal Research: Conduct research on case law, statutes, and regulations related to workers' compensation defense.
  • Drafting Documents: Prepare, file, and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Court Appearances: Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials as needed.
  • Client Communication: Maintain strong communication with clients to provide updates and legal guidance.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes effectively.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
  • Licensing: Active membership in the California State Bar, in good standing.
  • Language Skills: Native or fluent Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply.
  • Caseload Management: Ability to manage a full caseload of cases efficiently.
  • Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications and Skills

  • California State Bar Certification in good standing.
  • Workers' Compensation Knowledge: Strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and defense strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Case Management: Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
