Job Overview:

A law firm in Chicago, IL, seeks a skilled and motivated Alcohol and Distribution Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in alcohol beverage law or related regulatory areas. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel and representation in matters related to alcohol beverage distribution, including regulatory compliance, licensing, and transactions.
• Manage and resolve complex legal issues related to the alcohol beverage industry.
• Assist with commercial corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, related to the alcohol beverage sector.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Advise clients on regulatory changes and industry best practices.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and client advice.
• Independently manage cases or significant components of large/complex cases from inception to resolution.
• Prioritize workload effectively to meet competing demands and deadlines.
• Display sound judgment and practical problem-solving skills in framing legal advice and analysis based on risk assessments.
• Facilitate the completion of projects by coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and other legal professionals.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in alcohol beverage law or related regulatory areas (e.g., FDA/food regulation).
• Demonstrated experience with commercial and corporate matters and mergers and acquisitions.
• Admitted to practice law in Illinois.
• Proven ability to independently manage legal matters and drive projects to completion.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in Illinois.
