A law firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Discovery Attorney to lead and manage eDiscovery processes, collaborating with eMerge attorneys, technologists, case teams, and clients to ensure efficient and defensible case outcomes while adhering to legal standards and best practices.

Duties:

  • Craft and manage case-specific workflows and protocols for eDiscovery to mitigate risks, control costs, and ensure defensibility.
  • Oversee and ensure the quality of work and deliverables for eMerge Discovery Attorneys, Project Attorneys, technologists, and service providers, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Provide guidance and support to case teams and clients on all discovery phases, including preservation, production, pre-litigation information governance, and trial preparation.
  • Stay updated on eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Communicate complex legal and technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina and in good standing.
  • 5-7 years of experience in eDiscovery within a law firm environment.
  • Deep understanding of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in preservation, filtering, and export capabilities of corporate messaging and productivity solutions such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
  • Preferred expertise with eDiscovery software, particularly Relativity.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and project management skills to oversee complex eDiscovery projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and across different departments.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certification in eDiscovery or related field (e.g., Relativity Certified Administrator).
