Job Overview:
A law firm in Houston, TX, is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join their dynamic IP Litigation team. This position offers the opportunity to handle complex patent prosecution and litigation matters, contributing to a diverse range of legal challenges while managing cases and working with a team of professionals.

Duties:

• Lead patent prosecution and litigation matters, managing case workflows from inception to conclusion.
• Draft and file legal briefs, motions, and responses for patent litigation cases.
• Take depositions and conduct direct and cross-examinations of witnesses.
• Collaborate with experts in technical fields to support case development and strategy.
• Participate in PTAB and trial proceedings as needed.
• Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals.
• Engage in case strategy, client interaction, and day-to-day case management.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in IP litigation, including experience with motions practice, depositions, and managing litigation processes.
• Demonstrated ability to independently handle cases and supervise junior staff.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with an ability to clearly articulate complex legal concepts.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• A J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in Texas (or ability to obtain licensure in TX promptly).
• USPTO admission is preferred, especially for candidates with an engineering background.
